Montiel -
Espai Gastronomic This is a cozy Spanish restaurant
with a constant crowd outside waiting to get in, so we obviously
recommend you to book a table in advance. The interior is a colorful
tasteful mix of modern and antique and you will find that it is kind of
intimate and romantic so a great choice is to bring your Friday date
here. Their dishes are made from great raw materials straight from
the market and the service is very attentive.
Order the
“solomillo” and a few glasses of their red Merlot and we can promise
that you won’t be disappointed. Montiel Espai Gastronomic is also a
painter’s restaurant; its walls are always decorated with local artists
work, promoting these new promises that also frequently visit the
restaurant.

Le Kasbah As the heat is coming along again
it is time for Le Kasbah, inside, the Arabic harem look manages to
seduce an international crowd of students, young lovers and party
people, basically a very mixed crowd, and outside you can relax around
the low arabic tables in the fresh air. This is a good meeting
point for a few cocktails with some chill out music, however as the
night progresses, so does Le Kasbah. Soon enough the lounge music turns
into fantastic electronic house music and each night they have different
concepts, this Friday they will take you to Argentina…

El
Xiringuito de Escribà Located next to the beach walk
with an amazing sea view this Mediterranean restaurant is a Sunday
classic. For lunch the place is so over booked that you need to reserve a
table a couple of days beforehand, but its defenitley worth it. Their
seafood is amazing and even if it’s famous for being one of the few
places where you can get good paella in the city centre they are even
more famous for their desserts who are heavenly delicious.
The
best thing is to book a big table and have a big brunch with your closes
friends and relax before the hectic week starts again. Sunday
open hours: 13-17:30h.
In the summer their terrace is
even open at night time.

Cremería Toscana A long relaxing evening
walk in the spring breeze will not be complete without an ice cream in
your hand (and your lover in the other). The best place to visit is a
charming little shop called Cremeria Toscana. However you will have to
make the hard decision of choosing from 20 different authentically
Italian flavors like tiramisu, liquorices’ and chocolate or the odd ones
like parmesan with pear. Open until midnight.

About Us Approximately seven years
ago two young and adventurous girls arrived to a city with no limits –
Barcelona.
Both from Stockholm, one blonde and the other a
brunette, met for the first time in an exclusive million dollar wine
cellar belonging to a friend. That was the beginning of a very long and
still ongoing story.
The blonde girl, called Kattis, used to work
for a PR company organizing trendy events in Stockholm. She gave
the impression of being a strong and curious woman with a lot of
character. The brunette who was a few years younger called Laura had
just arrived on a plane from London; she was a very energetic and
outgoing girl however clear on what she wanted in life.
That
night was the beginning of what now has come true - Barcelona By Us.
They wanted to document their crazy but fun time in Barcelona - the city
of freedom, independence and the playground of the world where
everything was allowed. They wanted to share their experiences with the
rest of the world and their promise was sealed with a toast of Dom
Pérignon 98 and a shot of vodka. Time passed and they each went their
own way, Kattis started studying image consulting and Laura went back to
London to do a degree in business.
Seven years later they are
sitting next to each other working for the same company in the mobile
industry. It didn’t take long before the idea was back in their lives,
ready to be at service for the rest of the city.
Barcelona By Us
was created 11th of January 2009 and will be in your phone, on the
street, in the clubs and of course on the web. It will be providing you
with the latest updates of all the good and traditional favourite
restaurants, fun party places, art exhibitions, concerts and much more,
all experienced and tested by our excellent taste. Everything you need
to know to experience the city of Barcelona in the best way possible,
week by week… |
